William Blake believed that the eyes are the windows to the soul. Of course, Blake was talking about metaphysics, God and abstract thought concepts, but the same applies in airsoft.
All players have at one time or another been hit at close range by one or a salvo of bb's. In polite terms it stings / hurts and in some cases can puncture the skin. Hence the required need at a minimum for eye protection. The eyes may or may not be the windows to our soul, but I can say for certain that having inadequate eye protection may eventually leave you with only soul searching to do.

Take a look at the images above. There is nothing outwardly diferent about these goggles / glasses. However Guarder have provided plenty of custom features to help offer the player a comfortable fit, combined with utility in all conditions. You will notice the additional accessories that come with the glasses:

1x glasses
1x google-style head strap
1x carry pouch (hard)
1x carry pouch (soft)
1x foam rim insert
8x different shaded lenses

The good thing about this is that it offers the player the ability to have essentially more than one set of glasses. When the going is frantic, the C4 can be turned into goggles. When the light is too dim or too bright, it has the lenses to cope. It is simply a "can do" product.

The structure offers strength with flexibility. The lenses are ballistic lenses designed for shooting sports (including airsoft) and the dark tinted ones are UV protected to help guard your eyes from the sun. They are lightweight, and surround the eye entirely so it really does not feel like you have them on at all.

But Do They Work?

Yes. Totally. Having been on the receiving end of 4 left eye hits from snipers I can safely say that they do. They do not dent or show any signs of marking. So they may not have the "cool" name like Oakley and the ilk, but for me I want value, performance and utility. The Guarder C4 set offers all of this. I believe that these glasses will without doubt become essential in most players kitbags.

If I had to rate them I would give them 9/10 simply because they claim to be anti-fog, and this isn't the case. Do not be discouraged though, I find that they only fog up briefly and during particularly humid moments (i.e after leopard crawling through wet ferns etc).

Before I finish I want to offer some words of advice to anyone who thinks "but i can get a clear pair for a fiver". Maybe you can, but what price do you put on your eyesight? After all as John at Elite Action Games once said to me:

"Some people can't see the stupidity of spending £300 on an AEG and yet only £10 on their glasses."

9/10

I bought mine from Fire-support on their website: [link='http://www.fire-support.co.uk/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=1960']www.fire-support.co.uk[/link]
